Our Statement of Faith Our Statement of Faith includes only those truths upon which all Christians agree and is fundamental to what and how we teach. This is not a statement of all that is important to believe, but of all that is essential to believe for Christian fellowship and unity (Romans 5:7). We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes the complete and final revelation. Nothing is to be added to it, and it is the only source of divine truth. The Bible, in its original autograph, is without error in whole and in part. (2 Timothy 3:16; Revelation 22:18-19)
Our Statement of Family We believe that the family is the basic governmental, social, and spiritual unit created by God. We understand "family" to mean a male and female parent, legally married, with or without children; however, we recognize the exceptions of single parents, adopted children, foster children, and stepchildren. In light of Hebrews 13:4, no homosexual or co-habiting partners are eligible for participation in CHEM. Student Information, Safety and Security General: CHEM is a guest of Mabel White Baptist Church and has limited use of the facility. Students may not go past marked areas and are asked not to wander in the facility. If students are found outside marked areas, their parents will be contacted. Children may play on the church playground ONLY when supervised. Only students registered for classes will be allowed in CHEM reserved areas of the church during Coop hours. Dress Code: We strive to glorify God in the way we present ourselves. Our dress code reflects this goal and is a guideline for students and parents. If there is a concern about a student not meeting the dress code, the student will be removed from class and a CHEM administrator will speak privately with the student and parent together. The dress code is as follows:
Class List: Please write down the classes that your child is taking and have him/her bring this card with him on the first day of class. Student Belongings: Please remember that students usually have handouts and other items from class. Students should bring a backpack to carry supplies and take home class work. Please check each week to make sure your children have all of their work for classes. Public Display of Affection (PDA): Any display of affection between students is NOT appropriate during Coop hours. Clean-Up: As guests of the church facility, CHEM has agreed to clean up any areas we use. Workers are required to clean assigned areas and students may be asked to assist with cleaning duties. Lunch: All students staying through lunch must bring a bag lunch and drink. Although drink machines are available, they are off-limit to CHEM students. Water fountains are available on both floors. Please do not send nachos, shredded cheese, or other foods that are messy to eat. (No lunch break for Spring 2007 session.) Leaving for Lunch: High school students attending morning classes and staying through lunch must stay at the church to eat lunch. They may leave the church only if they have a parent present who can monitor their leave and return. Pick-Up: Children are not allowed to leave their class or the playground to meet their rides home. A responsible adult must pick up the child from a class teacher or worker in classroom or at the playground. Compliance with CHEM Guidelines and Discipline Parents and children are expected to comply and support all CHEM guidelines included in this booklet. The first time a student disobeys CHEM guidelines, a parent/student meeting will be held. The second time the student disobeys CHEM guidelines, the parent will be notified, and the child will immediately be dismissed from all CHEM classes, will not be allowed to participate in any future CHEM sessions and the family will not be eligible for any refund of money because of the dismissal. Workers Needed We always need workers for Coop. Before working, we ask that everyone complete and return a volunteer application. Before teaching a class, we ask that a person work as a helper for at least one Coop session. For more information about helping with CHEM classes, please contact Andrea Maynard at KAandKids@juno.com or 478-992-5517. Tuition and Fees Tuition and supply fees are listed for each class on the following pages. Supply fees are based upon the consumable supplies necessary for each class. All fees may be paid by check or cash to Margaret Ulshafer at the CHEM Registration and Payment desk. The entire supply fee and at least one-half of the tuition fee are payable on the first day of class. Full payment of all tuition and fees must be made by the fifth week of class. If a parent is able to work, tuition fees will be reduced. There may be some classes that are excluded from this offer. |
